PENYISIHAN WARNA DAN KANDUNGAN LOGAM Fe, Mn DENGAN PROSES ADSORPSI DAN FILTRASI

Kondisi jenis tanah yang terdapat di Kota Balikpapan meliputi alluvial, podsolik Merah kuning dan tanah pasir. Kondisi jenis tanah ini salah satu penyebab air tanah di Balikpapan berwarna kuning dan tidak standar kualitas air bersih, seperti kekeruhan 148 NTU, warna 15 TCU, kandungan logam Fe 6 mg/l dan kandungan logam Mn 1,87 mg/l. Tahapan penelitian yang digunakan untuk menyisihkan kekeruhan, warna dan kandungan logam Fe, Mn pada air tanah yaitu dengan metode adsorpsi dan filtrasi. Setelah melewati kolom adsorpsi dengan adsorben manganese greensand kekeruhan berkurang 25 NTU, warna 5 TCU dengan kandungan logam Fe kurang dari 0,05 mg/l dan kandungan logam Mn 0,35 mg/l kemudian difilter dengan karbon aktif kekeruhan berkurang 2,75 NTU, Warna 0,1TCU, kandungan logam Fe kurang dari 0,05 mg/l dan kandungan Mn 0,31 mg/l.
ABSTRACT The type of soil conditions in the city of Balikpapan include alluvial, red yellow podsolik and sandy soil. The condition of this type of soil is one of the causes of ground water in Balikpapan which is yellow and not of clean water quality standards, such as turbidity of 148 NTU, color 15 TCU, metal content of Fe 6 mg / l and metal content of Mn 1.87 mg / l. Stages of research used to remove turbidity, color and metal content of Fe, Mn in ground water is by adsorption and filtration methods. After passing through the adsorption column with manganese greensand turbidity reduced 25 NTU, 5 TCU color with Fe metal content less than 0.05 mg / l and Mn metal content 0.35 mg / l then filtered with activated carbon turbidity reduced 2.75 NTU, Color 0.1TCU, Fe metal content less than 0.05 mg / l and Mn content 0.31 mg / l .
