Stabilisasi Tanah Lempung dengan Menggunakan Serbuk Kayu Ulin

Each region has different soil characteristics and properties. In this study, it was found that the soil conditions were not good, namely loamy soil which during the dry season it was very hard but during the rainy season it became soft. It is very important to know the soil problem and make efforts to fix it. The soil improvement method used in this research is the stabilization method. At the research location which is on Traktor 6, Lamaru, there are many damaged roads, so the authors are interested in conducting soil stabilization in the area. Ironwood powder will be mixed in clay with a percentage of 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 25%. In this study, the soil was classified by the USCS classification system, so the soil was in the SC group with the presentation passing the No. 200 of 41.09%, water content at first = 33.8%, Liquid Limit (LL) = 41.33%, Plastic Limit (PL) = 12.76%, Plastic Index (PI) = 28.57%, optimum water content = 18.89%, maximum γd = 1.68 gr / cm3, CBR = 0.47%. With the addition of ironwood powder, the optimum moisture content = 15.77%, the maximum γd = 1.98 gr / cm3, CBR = 2.08%. So it can be concluded that the addition of ironwood sawdust can improve soil bearing capacity and make soil conditions better than before stabilization. Setiap daerah memiliki karakteristik dan sifat-sifat tanah yang berbeda. Pada penelitian ini ditemukan kondisi tanah yang kurang baik yaitu tanah lempung dimana pada saat musim kemarau memiliki sifat yang sangat keras namun ketika musim hujan sifatnya menjadi lunak. Sangat penting untuk mengetahui permasalahan tanah tersebut dan memberikan upaya untuk memperbaikinya. Metode perbaikan tanah yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah metode stabilisasi. Pada lokasi penelitian yang berada di jalan Traktor 6, Lamaru ditemui banyak jalan yang rusak, sehingga penulis tertarik melakukan stabilisasi tanah pada kawasan tersebut. Serbuk kayu ulin akan dicampur pada tanah lempung dengan presentase 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% dan 25%. Dalam penelitian ini tanah diklasifikasikan dengan sistem klasifikasi USCS maka tanah tersebut kelompok SC dengan presentasi lolos saringan No. 200 sebesar 41.09%, kadar air mula-mula = 33.8%, Batas Cair (LL) = 41.33%, Batas Plastis (PL) = 12.76%, Indeks Plastis (PI) = 28.57%, kadar air optimum = 18.89%, γd maksimum = 1.68 gr/cm3, CBR = 0.47%. Dengan penambahan serbuk kayu ulin kadar air optimum = 15.77%, γd maksimum = 1.98 gr/cm3, CBR = 2.08 %. Maka dapat disimpulkan dengan adanya penambahan serbuk kayu ulin ini dapat memperbaiki daya dukung tanah dan membuat kondisi tanah menjadi lebih baik dari sebelum distabilisasi.
