ANALISA PENYEBAB KERETAKAN FRONT AXLE HOUSING PADA UNIT SCANIA P360 LD 800

When doing On The Job Training at PT. United Tractors Tanjung Redeb site Labanan, the researcher has received a report from the costumer, that there has been a crack in the front axle housing unit of Scania. After checking, it was found that the front axle housing crack on the unit occurred at 6,880 HM. Based on the data that has been collected, it is known that axle housing crack on the scania unit are quite common. Of total 72 Scania P360 units, 40,28% of axle housing crack or a many at 29 units have occurated. Meanwhile in the Scania P410, there was 1 case of cracking in the axle housing out of a total of 5 units. Observation of site condition, the load received by the unit, load calculation, and visual observation were carried out in this study to find out the cause of the damage. Based on observation of site conditions, it was found that the road conditions at the site tended to be uneven and the was material falling from the unit. Overloading in not recommended because it can cause a decrease in the power of the unit and can cause damage to components. Based on the result of calculation that have been done, it os found that the load capasity received by each axle housing exceeds the maximum capasity that should be. There are several parts that are welded to the axle housing when these component are manufactured. There are several cracks occuring near the weld. It is known that type of crack that occurs in this areaia a transgranular crack type because the crack occur in the base metal adjacent to the weld. Then there is also a crack propagation that experiences a bend in the crack propagation, the crack is a type of intergrannular crack. Oil leaks and breakdown maintanance are the effects of cracking the axle housing. Excessive loading received by the unit and the weld that has the potential to caose the area near the weld to experience embrittelment are the factors that cause cracks. Saat melakukan Praktik Kerja Lapangan di PT. United Tractors Tanjung Redeb site Labanan, penulis telah menerima laporan dari pihak costumer, bahwa telah terjadi keretakan pada front axle housing unit Scania. Setelah dilakukan pemeriksaan didapatkan bahwa keretakkan front axle housing pada unit ini terjadi pada 6.880 HM. Berdasarkan data yang telah dikumpulkan, diketahui bahwa keretakan axle housing pada unit Scania cukup sering terjadi. Dari total 72 unit Scania P360 telah terjadi keretakan axle housing sebesar 40,28% atau sebanyak 29 unit. Sedangkan pada Scania P410 telah terjadi 1 kasus keretakan axle housing dari total 5 unit. Pengamatan kondisi site, pembebanan yang diterima unit, perhitungan beban, dan pengamatan visual dilakukan dalam penelitian ini untuk mencari tahu penyebab dari kerusakan. Berdasarkan pengamatan kondisi site didapatkan bahwa kondisi jalan pada site tersebut cenderung tidak rata dan terdapat material yang berjatuhan dari unit. Pembebanan yang berlebihan sangat tidak disarankan kerana dapat menyebabkan menurunnya tenaga dari unit dan bisa menyebabkan komponen-komponen mengalami kerusakan. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan yang telah dilakukan, didapatkan bahwa kapasitas muatan yang diterima oleh masing-masing axle kousing melebihi kapasitas maksmial yang diseharusnya. Terdapat beberapa bagian yang dilas pada axle housing saat komponen tersebut diproduksi. Ada beberapa retakan terjadi didekat las, diketahui bahwa jenis retak yang terjadi pada area tersebut merupakan jenis retak transgranular karena retakan terjadi pada base metal yang berdekatan dengan las. Kemudian juga terdapat rambatan retak yang mengalami pembelokan pada rambatan retaknya, retakan tersebut merupakan jenis retakan intergranular. Kebocoran oli dan breakdown maintenance merupakan dampak yang ditimbulkan dari keretakan axle housing. Pebebanan berlebihan yang diterima oleh unit dan pengelasan yang berpotensi menyebabkan area dekat las mengalami penggetasan merupakan faktor-faktor penyebab keretakan.
