ANALISA PENYEBAB KERUSAKAN FINAL DRIVE UNIT D85ESS-2 DI PT. UNITED TRACTORS TBK BANJARMASIN

ABSTRACT The Final drive is a gear arrangement that is usually a set of straight gears or a set of planetary gears as the final drive gear, which serves to reduce the rotation and increase the torque of the unit. The final drive principle is equal to the principle of transmission, by reducing/decreasing the rotation of inputs by utilizing the difference in the number of gears so that the resulting lower rotation is obtained but the torque produced becomes larger. The purpose of this research is to determine the cause of the final component D85ESS -2 damage drive and to prevent similar damages to not occur again in the future. Once the identification causes the final drive component damage, this is due to the incorrect application of the unit so that the unit is overloaded which exceeds the standard resulting in wear and tear on the final drive component. Acceleration of wear is also given by the contamination of oil. The decrease in viscosity and the number of contaminants in the oil cause the final drive component to malfunction. The damaged parts are oil seal, pinion bearing, gear shaft, and pinion shaft. Keywords: Final Drive, overloading, component wear, Maintenance. Final drive adalah susunan roda gigi yang biasanya berupa satu set roda gigi lurus atau satu set roda gigi planet (planetary gear) sebagai roda gigi penggerak akhir, yang berfungsi untuk mereduksi putaran dan meningkatkan torsi unit. Prinsip final drive sama dengan prinsip transmisi, yakni dengan mereduksi/ mengurangi putaran input dengan memanfaatkan perbedaan jumlah roda gigi sehingga didapatkan output putaran yang lebih rendah namun torque yang dihasilkan menjadi lebih besar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan penyebab kerusakan komponen final drive D85ESS-2 dan untuk mencegah kerusakan serupa untuk tidak terjadi lagi di masa mendatang. Setelah dilakukan indentifikasi penyebab kerusakan komponen final drive, ini dikarenakan akibat pengaplikasian unit yang salah sehingga unit mengalami kelebihan beban yang melebihi standartnya sehingga mengakibatkan keausan pada komponen final drive. Percepatan keausan juga disebakan oleh adanya kontaminasi pada oli. Menurunnya viskositas dan banyaknya kontaminan pada oli menyebabkan komponen final drive mengalami kerusakan. Adapun bagian-bagian yang mengalami kerusakan adalah oil seal, bearing pinion, gear shaft, dan pinion shaft. Kata Kunci : Final Drive, Pembebanan Berlebih, Keausan Komponen, Maintenance
