PEMASANGAN TIME DELAY PADA STARTER SWITCH UNIT SCANIA DALAM UPAYA MEMINIMALISIR KERUSAKAN PADA TURBOCHARGER

Abstrak (Abstracts)

In the mining world, the dump truck is the main support tool in the process of moving material,it over burden or mining products. Therefore, the availability of the dump truck unit greatly affects mining results. Innovation is always needed in dump truck units to increase productivity and reduce company expenses. In the dump truck unit, there is a standard operational procedure (SOP) that must be carried out either in the operation process or in the repair process of the unit. When operating the unit, there are many SOP, one of which is the SOP for turning off the engine unit, namely after the unit operates and parking, you have to wait for about 5 minutes before turning off the engine. It is done so that the engine temperature does not drop drastically, especially in the turbocharge components and also the lubrication system can work optimally. The problem in the field was that some unit operators did not carry out the SOP and immediately turned off the engine. This affects the lifetime of the turbocharge components. Therefore, the reseacher made improvements by installing a time delay on the starter switch to keep the engine alive for a predetermined time when the key position was off. Pada dunia pertambangan dump truck merupakan alat support utama dalam proses pemindahan material baik itu over burden ataupun hasil tambang. Sehingga ketersediaan unit dump truck sangat berpengaruh terhadap hasil tambang. Inovasi selalu dibutuhkan pada unit dump truck untuk meningkatkan produktifitas dan mengurangi biaya pengeluaran perusahaan. Pada unit dump truck terdapat standard operational procedure (SOP) yang harus dilakukan baik itu dalam proses pengoperasian ataupun dalam proses perbaikan unit. Saat pengoperasian unit banyak terdapat SOP salah satunya adalah SOP mematikan engine unit yaitu setelah unit beroperasi dan parkir harus menunggu sekitar 5 menit sebelum mematikan engine, hal ini dilakukan supaya suhu engine tidak menurun drastis khususnya pada komponen turbocharge dan juga sistem pelumasan dapat bekerja secara maksimal. Masalah di lapangan beberapa operator unit tidak melakukan SOP tersebut dan langsung mematikan engine. Hal ini berpengaruh terhadap masa pakai dari komponen turbocharge. Karena itu penulis melakukan improvement dengan memasang time delay pada starter switch guna mempertahankan engine tetap hidup selama waktu yang telah ditentukan saat posisi kunci telah off.
