RANCANG BANGUN SPECIAL TOOL REMOVE COVER DAMPER ENGINE PADA UNIT DUMP TRUCK HD 785-5

Abstrak (Abstracts)

The use of HD units (Heavy Duty Dump Trucks) in a mine is very important with other units, because this unit will later transport and carry piles of coal or topsoil to be placed in the disposal or coal storage. Dump truck is a medium to long distance material transporter, where one of them is type HD 785 – 5. The problem faced when overhauling the damper is a tracking bolt hole on the jammed damper cover condition can cause cracks on the damper cover, the process the release still uses two or more man power, the removal process is still less safe, and still requires a very long time to remove the damper cover. This type of research that I use by observation in the field of design and manufacture of tools to remove the damper cover. The results obtained from the design of the remove cover damper is to make working man power feel safe when removing the damper cover, minimize the occurrence of cracks on the damper cover, the man power needed is only 1 man power and the time for the discharge process is 1 hour more effective than the previous method. Penggunaan unit HD (Heavy Duty Dump Truck) di dalam suatu pertambangan yaitu sangatlah penting dengan unit-unit lainnya, karena unit ini yang nantinya akan mengangkut dan membawa tumpukan-tumpukan batu bara ataupun topsoil untuk dipindahkan di disposal atau tempat penampungan batu bara. Dump truck adalah sebuah alat pengangkut material dari jarak sedang hingga jauh, dimana salah satu nya bertype HD 785 – 5. Permasalahan yang dihadapi pada saat melakukan overhaul damper yaitu terjadi lubang tracking bolt pada cover damper jammed kondisi tersebut dapat menyebabkan crack pada cover damper, proses pelepasan masih menggunakan dua man power atau lebih, proses pelepasan masih kurang aman, dan masih membutuhkan waktu yang sangat lama untuk melepas cover damper. Jenis penilitian yang digunakan yaitu dengan cara observasi dilapangan perancangan dan pembuatan alat untuk remove cover damper. Hasil yang diperoleh dari rancang bangun remove cover damper adalah membuat man power yang bekerja dapat merasa aman saat melakukan pelepasan cover damper, meminimalisir terjadinya crack pada cover damper, man power yang dibutuhkan hanya 1 man power dan waktu proses pelepasan lebih efektif 1 jam dibanding dengan cara sebelumnya.
