ANALISA KINERJA RUAS JALAN M.T.HARYONO AKIBAT PENAMBAHAN MEDIAN

Jalan M.T. Haryono is an urban road in Balikpapan City. At one point of the M.T. Haryono has added a median of roads that previously had no median, so there is a need for an evaluation to measure the effectiveness of road performance due to the addition of the road median. The purpose of this study is to determine the performance of roads due to the addition of the median. The research method used in this research is quantitative descriptive research, where the data collection method is carried out through traffic surveys in the field, observing and measuring the field geometry. From the results of research on the M.T. Haryono, geometric characteristics include the 4/2 T road where the total width of the traffic lane meets the standard for urban roads with a width of 15 meters, but there are still components that are lacking such as the absence of sidewalks, bicycle lanes and lane barrier markings. Meanwhile, the performance of the road segment due to the addition of the median for the Burger King – RM direction. Torani has a value of 0.64 degree of saturation and for the RM direction. Torani – Burger King saturation degree value 0.60. Both of these traffic flows are classified into service level C where the flow is still within stable limits, the speed and motion of the vehicle are controlled because of the large volume of traffic and the driver is limited in choosing the desired speed. Jalan M.T. Haryono merupakan jalan perkotaan yang ada di Kota Balikpapan. Pada penelitian sebelumnya oleh Pada salah satu titik ruas jalan M.T. Haryono telah dilakukan penambahan median jalan yang sebelumnya tidak bermedian, sehingga perlu adanya evaluasi untuk mengukur efektivitas kinerja ruas jalan akibat penambahan median jalan. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kinerja ruas jalan akibat penambahan median. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif, dimana metode pengambilan data dilaksanakan melalui survey lalu lintas di lapangan, mengamati dan mengukur geometrik lapangan. Dari hasil penelitian pada jalan M.T. Haryono, karakteristik geometrik termasuk pada jalan 4/2 T yang lebar total jalur lalu lintasnya memenuhi standard untuk jalan perkotaan dengan lebar 15 meter, tetapi masih ada komponen yang kurang seperti tidak adanya trotoar, jalur pesepeda dan marka pembatas lajur. Sedangkan, kinerja ruas jalan akibat penambahan median untuk arah Burger King – RM. Torani memiliki nilai derajat kejenuhan 0,64 dan untuk arah RM. Torani – Burger King nilai derajat kejenuhan 0,60. Kedua arus lalu lintas ini tergolong kedalam tingkat pelayanan C dimana arus masih dalam batas stabi, kecepatan dan gerak kendaraan dikendalikan karena besarnya volume lalu lintas dan pengemudi dibatasi dalam memilih kecepatan yang diinginkan.
