PEMBUATAN SISTEM PENDUKUNG KEPUTUSAN SELEKSI PENERIMA BEASISWA PPA DI POLTEKBA MENGGUNAKAN METODE SIMPLE ADDITIVE WEIGHTING (SAW) BERBASIS WEB

Abstrak (Abstracts)

A scholarship is a grant of financial aid given to someone who is pursuing an education. Scholarships have the aim of anticipating students or students who are experiencing difficulties in their economy. Many institutions such as government, companies or foundations provide scholarships to help students. One example of a scholarship provided by a government institution is the PPA Scholarship. State Polytechnic of Balikpapan is one of the campuses that holds the PPA Scholarship selection. Unfortunately, the scholarship selection process at the State Polytechnic of Balikpapan is still done manually, which means that data processing is still less effective and the chances of errors in the results are very large. Therefore, the existence of a decision support system can support the selection process for PPA scholarships at the Balikpapan State Polytechnic. This decision support system requires criteria to determine who will be selected to receive the scholarship. In the process of developing this decision support system, the author uses the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method as a decision support method. The SAW method was chosen because this method determines the weight value for each attribute, then continues the ranking process which will select the best alternative, the best alternative is the student who is entitled and worthy of receiving the PPA scholarship with predetermined criteria. Based on the results of the tests that have been carried out, the system that has been built has been running according to the design, which can display students who are eligible to be accepted based on the PPA scholarship criteria Beasiswa adalah pemberian bantuan keuangan yang diberikan kepada seseorang yang sedang mengejar pendidikan. Beasiswa memiliki tujuan untuk mengantisipasi mahasiswa atau pelajar yang mengalami kesulitan dalam perekonomiannya. Banyak lembaga seperti pemerintah, perusahaan ataupun yayasan yang mengadakan beasiswa guna membantu mahasiswa. Salah satu contoh beasiswa yang diadakan oleh lembaga pemerintah adalah Beasiswa PPA (Peningkatan Prestasi Akademik). Politeknik Negeri Balikpapan merupakan salah satu kampus yang mengadakan seleksi Beasiswa PPA. Sayangnya proses seleksi beasiswa di Politeknik Negeri Balikpapan masih dilakukan secara manual, yang artinya pengolahan data masih kurang efektif dan peluang akan adanya kesalahan pada hasil sangat besar. Oleh karena itu dengan adanya Sistem pendukung keputusan dapat mendukung proses seleksi beasiswa PPA di Politeknik Negeri Balikpapan. Sistem pendukung keputusan ini membutuhkan kriteria untuk menentukan siapa yang akan dipilih untuk menerima beasiswa. Dalam proses pengembangan sistem pendukung keputusan ini, penulis menggunakan metode Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) sebagai metode pendukung keputusan. Metode SAW dipilih karena metode ini menentukan nilai bobot bagi setiap atribut, kemudian dilanjutkan proses perangkingan yang akan menyeleksi alternatif terbaik, alternatif terbaik adalah mahasiswa yang berhak dan layak menerima beasiswa PPA dengan kriteria yang sudah ditentukan. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian yang telah dilakukan, sistem yang dibangun telah berjalan sesuai dengan rancangan, yaitu dapat menampilkan mahasiswa yang layak diterima berdasarkan kriteria beasiswa PPA
