UPAYA SUPERVISOR HOUSEKEEPING DEPARTMENT DALAM PENGECEKKAN KAMAR HOTEL NOVOTEL BALIKPAPAN

Abstrak (Abstracts)

Novotel Balikpapan hotel is a 5-star hotel located in the city of Balikpapan, East Kalimantan which this research placed to know the Efforts, Roles, Duties and Responsibilities of a housekeeping department supervisor. In writing this Final Task the author uses qualitative descriptive research to conduct observations, interviews, and documentation to analyze the results of research that the author has done. The result of this study is the housekeeping supervisor department of Novotel Balikpapan Hotel has made good and correct efforts, carrying out its role as a housekeeping department supervisor in accordance with existing SOPs, has carried out its duties and responsibilities with the correct job description. In doing its job the housekeeping department supervisor makes various efforts to reduce guest complaints and so that the work done is effective and efficient. But there are still some obstacles faced by the housekeeping department supervisors, including the lack of human resources or workers who are still very lacking to help the work of the housekeeping department supervisor that causes having to do work simultaneously with the state of the room, and the hotel crowded guests who stay. Housekeeping department supervisors who work in a hurry and do not conscientiously cause to forget the SOP, therefore housekeeping department still has negative comments from guests. The result of the discussion of the research that has been carefully concluded is that the housekeeping department supervisor has done well and correctly, has performed its role in accordance with the existing the SOP, and has carried out its responsibilities properly and correctly in accordance with the existing job decription, but due to the lack of human resources in the housekeeping department at Novotel Balikpapan Hotel makes the housekeeping department supervisor work concurrently and many rooms are current is checked. Hotel Novotel Balikpapan merupakan hotel berbintang 5 yang berada di kota Balikpapan, Kalimantan Timur yang menjadi tempat penelitian untuk mengetahui Upaya, Peran, Tugas dan Tanggung jawab dari seorang supervisor housekeeping department. Dalam penulisan Tugas Akhir ini penulis menggunakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif untuk melakukan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi untuk menganalisa hasil penelitian yang penulis telah lakukan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah supervisor housekeeping department Hotel Novotel Balikpapan sudah melakukan upaya dengan baik dan benar, menjalankan perannya sebagai supervisor housekeeping department sesuai SOP yang ada, telah melaksanakan tugas dan tanggung jawabnya dengan job description yang benar. Dalam melakukan tugasnya supervisor housekeeping department melakukan berbagai upaya agar mengurangi guest complaint dan agar pekerjaan yang dilakukan efektif dan efisien. Namun masih ada beberapa kendala yang dihadapi oleh supervisor housekeeping department yaitu diantaranya kurangnya sumber daya manusia atau pekerja yang masih sangat kurang untuk membantu pekerjaan supervisor housekeeping department yang menyebabkan harus mengerjakan pekerjaan secara merangkap dengan keadaan kamar yang banyak, dan hotel ramai tamu yang menginap. Supervisor housekeeping department yang bekerja secara terburu-buru dan tidak teliti menyebabkan melupakan SOP yang ada, oleh karena itu housekeeping department masih terdapat komentar negatif dari tamu. Hasil pembahasan dari penelitian yang telah penulis teliti adalah supervisor housekeeping department telah berupaya dengan baik dan benar, telah menjalankan perannya sesuai dengan SOP yang ada, dan telah menjalankan tugas tanggung jawabnya dengan baik dan benar sesuai dengan job decription yang ada, namun dikarenakan kurangnya sumber daya manusia pada housekeeping department di Hotel Novotel Balikpapan menjadikan supervisor housekeeping department bekerja secara merangkap dan banyak kamar yang harus dilakukan pengecekan.
