MEMBANGUN VIRTUALISASI DAN CLUSTERING SERVER DENGAN HYPER-V WINDOWS SERVER 2012 R2 DI POLITEKNIK NEGERI BALIKPAPAN

Abstrak (Abstracts)

In Balikpapan State Polytechnic server machine is an important factor supporting the availability of services in addition to accommodate the network. Increased service associated web-based information systems, networks and data and the existence of the academic services and Student Affairs that are still manual and have not integrated the computer causes the need for the application of new technologies that are not yet implemented in Balikpapan State Polytechnic, that is virtualization technology and clustering server.. With virtualization it allows a single server can fill in some of the operating system and server clustering several servers with merged its performance so that he obtained a high level of availability which will reduce the rate of failure of a server. In this study used Windows Serever 2012 R2 as the server operating system and role of Hyper-V and failover clustering for server virtualization and clustering inplementasi. The test results showed some server virtualization virtual machines that reside on two physical servers can be running and berkomukasi between one and the other andaccessible services. Then the results of the tests of the server clustering indicated if there is a server that experienced a failure/down still remains accessible services. Di Politeknik Negeri Balikpapan mesin server merupakan faktor penting pendukung ketersediaan layanan selain insfrastuktur jaringan. Meningkatnya pelayanan terkait sistem informasi berbasis web, jaringan dan data serta masih adanya layanan-layanan akademik dan kemahasiswaan yang masih bersifat manual dan belum terintegrasi komputer menyebabkan perlu adanya penerapan teknologi baru yang belum di implementasikan di Politeknik Negeri Balikpapan, yaitu teknologi virtualisasi dan clustering server. Dengan virtualisasi memungkinkan satu server bisa di isi beberapa sistem operasi dan dengan clustering server beberapa server tersebut disatukan kinerjanya sehingga didapatkannya tingkat ketersedian tinggi yang akan mengurangi tingkat kegagalan sebuah server. Dalam penelitian kali ini digunakan Windows Serever 2012 R2 sebagai sistem operasi server dan role Hyper-V dan fitur failover clustering untuk implementasi virtualisasi dan clustering server. Hasil pengujian virtualisasi server menunjukan beberapa mesin virtual yang terdapat di dua server fisik dapat berjalan dan berkomukasi antara satu dan lainnya serta dapat diakses layanannya. Kemudian hasil ujicoba clustering server menunjukan jika ada server yang mengalami kegagalan/down masih tetap bisa diakses layanannya.
