PELAYANAN GUEST LAUNDRY DI ERA COVID-19 PADA HOTEL GRAN SENYIUR BALIKPAPAN

Housekeeping department is a department in a hotel that is responsible for cleanliness, beauty, and neatness throughout the building both inside and outside. Laundry section is responsibilities for the cleaning guests laundry and all linens used in hotel. This research aims to find out how to handle the collection and delivery of guest laundry before and during the Covid-19 pandemic at The Gran Senyiur Hotel Balikpapan and provide input to The Gran Senyiur Hotel Balikpapan should not issue a new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for handling the collection and delivery of guest laundry. This research was conducted with a qualitative descriptive approach in which the data was collected by documentation, interviews, and observations. The result of this study is Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) pick up and delivery guest laundry in the era of Covid-19 just came out because of quarantine guests staying at the hotel Gran Senyiur Balikpapan. After quarantine guests no longer stay at the hotel then the handling of pick up and delivery guest laundry back to the old Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) using health protocol. There are some obstacles experienced by laundry or valet staff when handling and delivering guest clothes, namely the miss communication between valet, asst. laundry manager, and asst. executive housekeeper for the delivery of quarantined guest clothing staying at the hotel and valet had difficulty with the delivery of quarantined guest clothes that only reached the front of the elevator or service area due to changes in Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) for delivery of guest clothing. Housekeeping department merupakan sebuah department di dalam hotel yang mempunyai tugas dan bertanggung jawab atas kebersihan, keindahan, dan kerapian di seluruh bangunan baik di dalam maupun di luar. Seksi laundry adalah seksi yang mempunyai tugas dan tanggung jawab atas seluruh pencucian pakaian dan seluruh linen yang ada di hotel. Penelitian ini mempunyai tujuan untuk mengetahui cara penanganan pengambilan dan pengantaran cucian tamu sebelum dan saat pandemi Covid-19 di hotel Gran Senyiur Balikpapan dan memberikan rekomendasi kepada Hotel Gran Senyiur Balikpapan perlu tidaknya mengeluarkan Standar Operasional Prosedur (SOP) baru untuk penanganan pengambilan dan pengantaran cucian tamu. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan data yang diperoleh dengan dokumentasi, wawancara, dan observasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah Standar Opersional Prosedur (SOP) pengambilan dan pengantaran pakaian tamu di era Covid-19 baru keluar karena adanya tamu karantina yang menginap di hotel Gran Senyiur Balikpapan. Setelah tamu karantina tidak lagi menginap di hotel maka penanganan pengambilan dan pengantaran laundry tamu kembali ke Standar Operasional Prosedur (SOP) lama dengan memakai protokol kesehatan. Terdapat beberapa kendala yang dialami oleh staff laundry atau valet saat melakukan penanganan dan pengantaran pakaian tamu yaitu adanya miss komunikasi antara valet, asst. laundry manager, dan asst. executive housekeeper atas pengantaran pakaian tamu karantina yang menginap di hotel dan valet sempat mengalami kesulitan dengan pengantaran pakaian tamu karantina yang hanya sampai depan lift atau service area karena adanya perubahan Standar Operasional Prosedur (SOP) pengantaran pakaian tamu.
