Analisis Kecepatan Aliran Sungai Menggunakan Alat Ukur Current Meter Dengan Metode Six-Tenths Method dan Two-Point Method (Studi Kasus Sungai Ampal Kota Balikpapan)

River has a cross-sectional size, namely longitudinal profile, cross-section and slope of the valley. The cross-sectional size can change according to the base material, cliffs and water discharge. The Ampal River is one of the rivers in Balikpapan City which is useful for draining the flow when a flood occur. Each river has a different flow velocity influenced by the slope of the channel, the type of soil in the river, and even the animal species found in the river, so to be able to determine the flow velocity in the river. A direct research in the field must be carried to determine the river flow velocity. Measuring the flow velocity in this research use a current meter used the two-point method and the six-tenths method , which will be carried out on 5 cross sections of the river. This research aims to compare the results of the flow velocity between the use of the six-tenths method and the two-point. The data observed were river depth, river width, cross-sectional area, flow velocity, and flow rate. The results showed that the comparison of flow velocity value using the six-tenths method is higher than the two-point method. In cross-section 1 the ratio is 4.99%, at cross-section 2 the ratio is 8.54%, at cross-section 3 the ratio is 6.28%, at cross-section 4 the ratio is 11.57%, and the ratio is 10.35% at cross-section 5. Sungai memiliki ukuran penampang yaitu profil memanjang, penampang melintang dan kemiringan lembah. Ukuran penampang tersebut dapat berubah sesuai dengan material dasar, tebing dan debit air. Sungai Ampal merupakan salah satu sungai di Kota Balikpapan yang bermanfaat mengalirkan debit aliran ketika terjadinya banjir. Setiap sungai memiliki kecepatan aliran berbeda yang dipengaruhi kemiringan saluran, jenis tanah pada sungai, bahkan spesies hewan yang terdapat pada sungai, sehingga untuk dapat mengetahui kecepatan aliran pada sungai harus dilakukan penelitian langsung di lapangan. Pengambilan data kecepatan aliran pada penelitian ini menggunakan alat ukur current meter, dengan menggunakan metode two-point method dan metode six-tenths method yang akan dilakukan pada 5 penampang sungai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan hasil kecepatan aliran antara penggunaan metode six-tenths method dan metode two-point. Data yang diamati berupa kedalaman sungai, lebar sungai, luas penampang, kecepatan aliran, dan debit aliran. Hasil penelitian didapatkan perbandingan kecepatan aliran dengan metode six-tenths method menghasilkan nilai kecepatan aliran yang lebih tinggi dibanding metode two-point method. Pada penampang 1 perbandingan sebesar 4,99%, pada penampang 2 perbandingan 8,54%, pada penampang 3 perbandingan 6,28%, pada penampang 4 perbandingan 11,57%, dan perbandingan sebesar 10,35% pada penampang 5.
