RANCANG BANGUN STAND HOLDER GERINDA TANGAN

Abstrak (Abstracts)

Grinding is a tool used for the process of cutting or reducing an abrasive workpiece through friction between the abrasive material and a workpiece or metal. In addition to cutting and reducing, grinding can also be used as a finishing process or surface smoothing. In Balikpapan State Polytechnic workshop area, the use of hand grinding machines is often carried out in bench workshop practices to cut the material/workpiece to be cut.However, when we do cutting work using a hand grinder, we need to get convenience so that it runs smoothly and efficiently in terms of time, therefor we need a tool which can help work in the material cutting process, therefor it is necessary to design and manufacture a stand holder that will help facilitate the grinding process. This stand holder is intended therefor when cutting materials/workpieces using a hand grinder get better results, time efficiency and safety compared to not using a stand because the stand is equipped with a more precise cutting process and without draining excess energy when doing grinding work.The method used is direct observation when conducting research in the mechanical engineering workshop area of the Balikpapan State Polytechnic. From the results of the safety analysis of 58%. So from the results of the calculation of the percentage above, the design of the hand grinding stand holder made by the author, the results of the analysis can be concluded that the stand holder design is safety. Gerinda merupakan sebuah alat yang digunakan untuk proses pemotongan atau pengurangan sebuah benda kerja secara abrasif melalui gesekan antara material abrasive dengan suatu benda kerja atau logam.selain untuk memotong dan mengurangi, menggerinda dapat juga digunakan sebagai proses finishing atau memperhalus permukaan. Di area workshop Politeknik Negeri Balikpapan penggunaan mesin gerinda tangan tersebut sering dilakukan pada praktek bengkel kerja bangku untuk memotong material/benda kerja yang akan dipotong. Namun pada saat kita melakukan pekerjaan pemotongan menggunakan gerinda tangan kita perlu mendapatkan kemudahan agar berjalan dengan lancar dan efesien dari segi waktu maka diperlukan sebuah alat yang dapat membantu pekerjaan pada proses pemotongan material maka diperlukan adanya perancangan dan pembuatan stand holder yang akan membantu mempermudah proses mengerinda.stand holder ini bertujuan agar pada saat melakukan pemotongan material/benda kerja menggunakan gerinda tangan mendapatkan hasil yang lebih baik, efesien waktu dan safety dibandingkan tidak menggunakan stand karena dilengkapinya stand pada proses pemotongan lebih presisi dan tanpa menguras tenaga berlebih pada saat melakukan pekerjaan mengerinda. Metode yang digunakan adalah observasi secara langsung yang dilakukan pada saat melakukan penelitian di area workshop teknik mesin Politeknik Negeri Balikpapan. Dari hasil analisa safety sebesar 58%. Maka dari hasil perhitungan presentase diatas rancang bangun stand holder gerinda tangan yang dibuat penulis maka hasil analisa tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa rancang bangun stand holder tersebut lebih safety.
