PENERAPAN KEPATUHAN ALAT PELINDUNG DIRI PADA PEKERJAAN PEMBANGUNAN GEDUNG KANTOR KEJAKSAAN NEGERI BALIKPAPAN

Abstrak (Abstracts)

Occupational health and safety is a field related to the health, safety and welfare of people working in an institution or project site. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is a set of tools used to protect oneself from the dangers of work accidents. However, some workers do not use PPE facilities properly. Hazard control by not using PPE will not be maximized if some of the workers still do not use it and are not in accordance with Law No. 1 of 1970 concerning work safety. In the law, it is written about the necessity for companies to make efforts to prevent accidents, including by providing PPE. According to (Sumarsono, 2003) Productivity is a human desire and effort to always improve the quality of life and livelihood in all fields. Therefore, one of the factors that affect productivity is PPE because using PPE while working will really feel safer, but the reality in the field is that some workers still do not use PPE even though it is for their own safety. This can be seen when the worker is cutting wood using a saw, the worker does not use gloves as a protective tool for his hands, and when the worker is at a height the worker does not use a body harness or safety belt. Because of this, research needs to be done in order to determine the level of worker compliance with the use of PPE when working. By using the method of quantitative research and cross sectional research design. This data collection method used observation and filled out questionnaires with data analysis techniques using univariate analysis and bivariate analysis. Of the 30 respondents, there were 22 respondents who complied with the use of PPE with a percentage of 73%, and 8 people who did not comply with a percentage of 27%. And from the type of finishing work that has the largest number of respondents who do not comply with the use of the use of PPE, namely five people. The main factor that affects workers not complying with the use of PPE is a predisposing factor that comes from human behavior or awareness itself. Kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja adalah bidang yang terkait dengan Kesehatan, keselamatan, dan kesejahtraan manusia yang bekerja di sebuah institusi maupun lokasi proyek. Alat pelindung diri (APD) adalah sperangkat alat yang digunakan untuk melindungi diri dari bahaya terjadinya kecelakaan kerja. Namun sebagian pekerja tidak menggunakan fasilitas APD dengan baik. Pengendalian bahaya dengan tidak menggunakan APD tidak akan maksimal jika sebagian pekerjanya masih tidak menggunakanya dan tidak sesuai dengan Undang-undang nomor 1 Tahun 1970 tentang keselamatan kerja. Dalam undang-undang tersebut tertulis tentang keharusan yang dilakukan oleh perusahaan untuk melakukan usaha pencegahan terjadinya kecelakaan yang diantaranya dengan menyediakan APD. Menurut (Sumarsono, 2003) Produktivitas adalah keingininan serta upaya manusia untuk selalu meningkatkan kualitas kehidupan dan penghidupan segala bidang. Maka dari itu salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi produktivitas adalah APD karena dengan menggunakan APD saat bekerja itu sangat akan terasa lebih aman, tetapi kenyataan di lapangan beberapa pekerjanya masih ada yang tidak menggunakan APD padahal hal tersebut demi keamanan diri sendiri. Hal ini dapat dilihat pada saat pekerjaan memotong kayu menggunakan gergaji pekerja tidak menggunakan sarung tangan sebagai alat pelindung tangannya, dan pada saat pekerja berada di ketinggian pekerja tidak menggunakan body harness atau safety belt. Karena hal ini perlu dilakukan penelitian agar dapat mengetahui tingkat kepatuhan pekerja terhadap pemakaian APD saat bekerja. Dengan menggunakan metode jenis penelitian kuantitatif dan desain penelitian cross sectional. Metode pengumpulan data ini menggunakan observasi dan mengisi kuisioner dengan teknik analisis data yaitu menggunakan analisis univariat dan analisis bivariat. Dari 30 responden terdapat responden yang patuh terhadap penggunaan APD sebesar 22 orang dengan persentase 73%, dan yang tidak patuh 8 orang dengan persentase 27%. Dan dari jenis pekerjaan finishing yang memiliki jumlah responden yang paling banyak tidak mematuhi penggunaan terhadap pemakaian APD yaitu lima orang. Faktor utama yang mempengaruhi pekerja tidak patuh terhadap pemakain APD adalah faktor predisposisi yaitu berasal dari perilaku atau kesadaran manusia itu sendiri.
