DESKRIPSI TUGAS AKHIR :
MENGURANGI DOWNTIME AKIBAT ENGINE HUNTING PADA PC 200-7 DENGAN MEMBUAT SAFETY DEVICE FUEL SHUT OFF VALVE

When changing the fuel filter where the fuel position turns off the valve must be closed so that there is no fuel spill during the change process, but after changing the fuel filter the fuel shut off valve normally forgets to reopen when the unit is running. The fuel in the fuel line between the fuel shut off valve and the injectors will run out, that is caused engine hunting. This situation requires the bleeding process to flow the fuel and remove air in the fuel line so that the unit can be revived. The is time needed to process bleeding between 10-30 minutes in order to overcome this problem, then the researcher is interested in creating a safety device fuel shut off valve that can alert the operator in the form of a buzzer and display text on the LCD screen so that the operator does not turn on the engine and ensure the fuel position is shut off the valve in an open state. When the position of the fuel shut off valve was closed, the relay would disconnect the starting system so that the engine cannot be stopped and the engine can only be restarted when the fuel shut off valve was open. To make a safety device fuel shut off valve PC200-7 requires the Arduino UNO as a microcontroller, while the input in the form of a push button switch and output ware a buzzer, relay, and LCD. The stage of making safety devices starts with designing electrical systems used ISIS proteus software, and designed casing using autocad software. The reseacher made the device according to the design that was made and did the Arduino programming using the arduino IDE software. The testing tool was done in 2 ways, namely using the simulator and testing directly on PC200-7. After testing, the results were suitable as expected, where the engine could not be restarted when the fuel shut off valve position was closed therefore it could prevent engine hunting and reduced down time. Pada saat melakukan pergantian fuel filter dimana posisi fuel shut off valve harus dalam keadaan tertutup agar tidak ada fuel yang bececeran saat proses pergantian, namun setelah melakukan pergantian fuel filter keadaan fuel shut off valve biasanya lupa untuk dibuka kembali pada saat unit di running. Fuel yang ada pada fuel line antara fuel shut off valve ke injectors akan habis sehingga menyebabkan engine hunting. Keadaan ini mengharuskan dilakukan proses bleeding untuk mengalirkan fuel dan membuang udara di dalam fuel line agar unit dapat dihidupkan kembali. Adapun waktu yang dibutuhkan untuk proses bleeding antar 10-30 menit untuk mengatasi pemasalahan tersebut, maka penulis tertarik untuk membuat safety device fuel shut off valve yang dapat memberikan peringatan kepada operator berupa buzzer dan tampilan text pada layar LCD agar operator tidak menghidupkan engine dan memastikan posisi fuel shut off valve dalam keadaan terbuka. Pada saat posisi fuel shut off valve tertutup, relay akan memutuskan starting system sehingga engine tidak dapat distart selanjutnya engine hanya bisa distart apabila fuel shut off valve dalam keadaan terbuka. Untuk membuat safety device fuel shut off valve PC200-7 membutuhkan arduino UNO sebagai mikrokontroler, sedangkan input berupa push button switch dan output adalah buzzer, relay, dan LCD. Adapun tahap pembuatan safety device dimulai dari merancang sistem elektrik menggunakan software proteus ISIS, dan perancangan casing menggunakan software autocad. Penulis melakukan pembuatan alat sesuai dengan design yang telah dibuat dan melakukan pemprograman arduino menggunakan software arduino IDE. Pengujian alat dilakukan dilakukan dengan 2 cara yaitu menggunakan simulator dan pengujian secara langsung pada PC200-7. Setelah dilakukan pengujian, hasilnya sesuai dengan yang diharapkan, dimana engine tidak dapat distart pada saat posisi fuel shut off valve dalam keadaan tertutup sehingga dapat mencegah terjadinya engine hunting dan mengurangi down time.
